Decline invitations home from strangers; use Grab, not touts
A long-running con flagged by several foreign governments: a friendly stranger strikes up a chat, learns where you're from, mentions a relative soon visiting your country, then invites you home — where you're drawn into a rigged card or gambling game (sometimes over a spiked drink) and pressured to hand over large sums; decline invitations home from people you've only just met. Snatch-theft by thieves on motorbikes is common, so wear bags on the side away from the road and don't walk near the kerb holding your phone. At KLIA/KLIA2, ignore taxi touts inside the terminal and use the Grab app or the fixed-price airport-coupon counter — street-hailed taxis often refuse the meter.
