Book Bolt/Liftago; change money only at banks
Don't hail taxis on the street near Wenceslas Square, the Old Town or outside clubs — they overcharge five to ten times or run a rigged meter; book Bolt or Liftago instead. Change money only at banks: street changers and 'zero-commission' kiosks in the tourist core give dreadful rates or slip you worthless old notes. Prague's currency is the Czech koruna (CZK), never euros — check the rate against Google first. Anyone in plain clothes claiming to be police and asking to 'check your wallet for counterfeit notes' is a thief; real officers never inspect your cash.
